  3. Velena is a Shannon-C type strategy program written
  4. to  play Connect Four.  It's based  on a knowledged
  5. approach that uses eight mathematical rules to take
  6. its  decisions.  Since the  rules are  proven to be
  7. correct,  the conclusions made by  the program  are
  8. also correct.  In this way it has  been possible to
  9. show that  Connect Four  is a first  player win and
  10. Velena is always able to win if she plays first.
